Can I have my items gift-wrapped?
Simply specify gift wrap in the Special Instructions section of the shopping cart before you check out. Your gift will be wrapped in our signature colored tissue paper with contrast raffia ribbon and our distinctive seal. If you prefer, you may purchase more elaborate gift wrap options using our exquisite papers and ribbons. Please call the shop to discuss the many wonderful possibilities.

Which credit cards do you accept?
We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

How can I buy something if I don't want to use a credit card online?
All of our online credit card transactions are secure, however if you prefer you can telephone us with your credit card details, at 845-876-8050, or you can email us at info$$papertrailrhinebeck**com You can also mail your order with your billing and shipping address and credit card details including the security code to Paper Trail, 6423 Montgomery Street, Rhinebeck NY 12572. We do not accept checks. All of your personal details will be used for sales purposes only. We never share our customer information.

When will my order be shipped, and how soon will I get it?
If in stock, your order will be shipped within two business days (48 hours) from when you placed your order. You should receive the order within 7 business days from the time of shipping, depending on your location. Please note your credit card will not be charged until your order has shipped.

What if the item I want is not in stock?
We will inform you by email if an item is out of stock and tell you how long the lead-time is expected to be for the item to come back into stock. At that point you can choose to cancel the order or wait until it's available.

What is your returns policy? Merchandise purchased from may be returned for Paper Trail credit (minus original shipping and handling fees or any discounts) within 30 days of purchase if in original condition and in original packaging. Refunds are not issued except in the case of defective merchandise we are unable to replace.

What is your returns policy regarding sale items?
All sale items are final sale. No returns or exchanges. Promotional discounts do not apply to sale items.

How do I return something?
To make a return or exchange, contact us via email at info$$papertrailrhinebeck**com to specify the reason and we will issue you a return authorization number. The item should be shipped to us via UPS or USPS in its original condition and packaging, accompanied by the original receipt (or a copy) and the return authorization number. We will not accept any used merchandise. In such cases the merchandise will be returned to the purchaser. Returns need to be packed securely and insured for the full price of the item and shipped to the following address: Paper Trail Returns, 6423 Montgomery Street, Rhinebeck, NY 12572. If the product is defective, we will arrange for a UPS call tag to have the merchandise picked up from you. If you are returning it for some other reason, you will need to pay the cost of shipping it back to us. Please note that additional shipping charges will apply to exchanges. Once the return is received we will email you confirmation of the return. If you are requesting a credit we will send you a credit memo via email.

What are your shipping and handling costs?
Shipping costs are based on your total order amount before sales tax is applied. Rates are calculated as follows:
Orders under $50 = $10 shipping and handling
Orders under $100 = $15 shipping and handling
Orders totaling $101-$300 = $20 shipping and handling
Orders totaling $301-$500 = $25 shipping and handling
Orders totaling $501-$750 = $30 shipping and handling
Orders totaling $751-$1000 = $35 shipping and handling
Orders over $1000 = 8% of total

Do you have a faster service available?
Express shipments can be quoted for UPS Next day, 2-day or 3-day shipping. Please call or email us for express shipping prices.

Can I combine orders I have placed to save on shipping charges?
Yes, if it has been less than 24 hours from the time that your orders have been placed, you are able to combine your orders to save on shipping charges. Shipping and handling charges listed above apply. Just send us an email at info$$papertrailrhinebeck**com and we can send your multiple orders in one shipment.

Can I have my order sent to a different location other than my billing address?
Yes. When you fill out the billing and shipping pages, you can specify where you would like you purchase sent. Please note, however, that cannot accommodate multiple shipping addresses at this time. If you want to purchase several items and have each of them sent to a different address, you will have to make separate purchases. Please note that we cannot ship orders to P.O. Boxes.

Can orders be shipped outside the U.S.A.?
No, at this time we cannot ship outside the USA, except to Canada. Additional charges will apply for Canadian shipments.

How is sales tax calculated on orders?
We collect sales tax on orders shipped to addresses in New York State. Residents in other states are responsible for complying with local state tax laws.
